Bruce Springsteen "Wrecking Ball".

Cradle of Filth "Lovecraft & Witch Hearts".

Pretty much yer perfect dumb metal band. For vocals you have the bloke wot growls, the bloke wot screams and the girl who wants to be Kate Bush. Add in proficient musicianship and the fact the lyrics are so OTT as to be quite funny ('Malice Through the Looking Glass' and 'Lustmord & Wargasm II' are just inherently perfect titles) and you have, IMHO, a winner.

And damn(ing) good fun it is too.

Bob Dylan "Nashville Skyline".

To be honest, hearing it reminds me why I don't play this one very often. It's rather sweet and I guess hearing the sweet-croon that he hadn't used much since 1960 made a change, but the best things about the album are Lay Lady Lay and the fact the album only lasts 28 minutes.

Ziggy Stardust & the Spiders From Mars: The Motion Picture Soundtrack (30th Anniversary Mix).

It was always a powerful perfomance (and not just because Bowie infamously sacks his entire band just before the last song) but it took until 2003 before a really convincing mix appeared. It was worth the wait.
