Hi, why do we have so many "new members" who never post? is that a feature of forums in general, or are we just different / unlucky?

At least some are signing up for spamming purposes. I noticed Old Spikey kicking one out a few mornings ago....

The huge majority of them are robot sign-ups that can create an account, but not use it to PM so they don't get used.

Others are friends of existing members who sign up merely to see pictures that aren't visible to guests.

Normally I check all new members as they join  & remove any suspect ones immediately

All the current ones appear to be genuine humans & not bots or spammers

As Genial Host said , some will be signups to see the pictures or other attachments. We do a regular clear out though & those who have never posted or logged in regularly get the boot after a sensible periods of time

I have cleared a few other 0 post members  or 1 post asking for help in pchelp from 1 year ago & never replied
no point in keeping them if they aren't going to take part
