Many years ago a guy wrote this game to run on an Apple II computer.

Time passed, and he lost the original source-code disks.

More time passed, and his Dad found a backup set at the back of a closet, so the programmer posted the code online on the off-chance somebody might have a working Apple II to play it.

About 2 days passed and a guy popped up in the comments to his blog saying he'd already written an Apple II emulator that ran in a modern browser and suggested it would be a trivial task to make the old game work in a browser that way.

A couple of hours later, he'd done exactly that - here's the result.  Yup

You've got to love geekery for it's own sake... that is what real hackers do.
