If you're not offered the upgrade automagically, check for updates in the 'help' menu.

There are quite a few changes in the new version: http://www.opera.com/browser/new/

It went through 5 release candidates at the end of the beta testing so it should be pretty solid... I haven't been able to break it, and believe me I've tried...  Evil

I might try out this Opera browser for a bit of novelty.

I've not 'upgraded' to IE9 yet, as I am not that fond of it.

It'll mess with your head until you get used to it as it behaves differently... but you might discover you like it Smiley

In the 'view' menu you can re-arrange the toolbars to suit your own way of working, and by typing opera:config into the address bar you've got complete control over the look, feel and behaviour of the browser.
I use that to toggle 'show menu bar' because otherwise it's hidden by default to save screen space...

I did install it, and the flash player version for Opera.

I couldn't figure out how to set my 'home page' which is the daily mail (yeah I know....comic newspaper) but I like it.

Hitting the 'home' button just brought up the Opera page. There were buttons up the top of the page, and all were greyed out except 'find' or something.
I trawled through the preferences menu, but couldn't find how to set a web site as the 'home page'.....I just wanted the option like in IE under tools/internet options/use current page.......after I have loaded up the DM site, and job done. After about ten minutes I still couldn't figure it out.  Blush
Then tried the 'show all toolbars' hoping to find some other options which took up a good third of my 24" monitor, so unticked that little monster.
I could have spent more time trying to understand how to set it up and stuff, but a lot of time and effort to try and knock a browser into shape just didn't seem worth it.
So being me, I got bored with all the options which I probably won't use, or even know what they are for, so uninstalled it as an unecessary irritation.

You know about these things, and how they work, so you can sort things out quickly..........I fell out of love for it when just trying to set my 'home page'..........not a lot of patience there then.  Grin

So, back to IE8 which I know how to set up....easily as there is not much to it.  Grin

You don't need to do anything tricky to set a home page.

Go tools, preferences and a dialogue will pop up - should be self-explanatory.

Control and F12... gives you the place to fix your 'home page'.

I use Opera and also Explorer... and they don't take much in the way of getting to know your way around.

It's worth sticking with it for a day or 2, Baron...     Flowers     Kiss

Shift and F12... gives you the option to fiddle for 'Appearance'.

Ah, I should have asked before I uninstalled it.......at least I left the flash player for it behind.

I might re-download it and perhaps take a deep breath and have another go at it.

It may not end well, or maybe it will.  Grin

Have a go... ask away because I'm not an expert but I'm good at finding answers.    Yup

Once I have had a couple of ciggies and my mug of coffee, it might be time to try again....  Grin Raises hat Flowers
