It was then that the discharge hose blew off of the outlet and the partly submerged pump sent a column of clay sludge upwards and in my general direction ........

Pro tip - a Jubilee clip around that hose on the outlet will prevent the same thing happening again.  Roll Eyes

There was a jubilee clip around the hose ....

Just a little more back pressure than it could contain.

For some reason I always thought you backed onto the canal - but looking at the piccies someone has either built some houses on it or I am mistaken again Smiley

Now what should I put here?? Let me have a think.....

Apparently so.

Of course there is another explanation - the heavy rain is washing the houses away down the canal.

For those who haven't been paying attention  Spank

The pond is in the garden of Julies house and I will be moving there as soon as I've titivated and sold my house.

Now back to the plot ....

I've just had a week off with Julie and we've moved my cats down to her house, there are 5 there now, and we've been working on the pond.

It's had about 1200 litres of rainwater from the butts but still needs a bit more, pump and filter are in and working, and I've still to build a small deck at one side. But in a couple of weeks we'll be able to stock it.
