And didn't have a damn camera with me. Roll Eyes

The story is, wifey and me around mid-day went over to lifelong friends at Bonchurch shore for a coffee and a freshly caught crab, which her old man and son caught this morning and had cooked ready for me.

When gazing out to sea I noticed a small group of thin(ish) clouds that were brightly coloured...........were seperated into red, sky blue, some orangey bits and then green.
I have never seen a bunch of coloured clouds before.....rather like a film of petrol over water.

Dave (the local fisherman) thought it may be moisture captured in the clouds, a little bit like a rainbow.
Twas the only explanation that we could think of especially as none of us had ever seem anything like it.

Anyone else seen coloured clouds before.................probably 'Yes' I see them all the time............ Grin

I've never seen them myself, they're very rare here... but your eyes were not deceiving you.

I will be surprised if I am ever lucky enough to see this sight again.......sigh.  Grin

I reckon photo No. 2 is the closest to what we saw, and it was formed over the sea I guess a few miles out (hard to judge) between Bonchurch, the English Channel and the D Day landing beaches.

I thought it rather pretty.... Grin

When are you going to learn? How many times have I told you...    Keep the batteries charged and take your camera with you when you go out and keep it handy when you are at home.    Kiss

First I have to find the camera, and then find the rechargeables, and hopefull the charger as well, and remember to put the charged batteries in the camera...........it's a lot for an old bloke to remember y'know.  Blush Grin
Anyway, at the time I was more interested in the treat of fresh cooked crab for a salad in the evening, but forgot the hassle of getting all the meat out of the darn thing.  Grin
Even better was that she didn't want paying for it either, so freebie fresh crab, was even more yummy.
Next I will get a fresh cooked lobster, but that I will pay for.  Grin

I do have a LG Viewty mobile with camera, but, I rarely use it after retiring from work. The wife uses it as a spare if her phone has run out of credit. I usually buy a tenners worth of credit every couple of years or so.  Grin
Wifey did try to take a picture with her phone, but she couldn't see the screen to point at the clouds as the sunlight over powered the screen and couldn't see sod all.  Grin
But as I say, that picture No. 2 on the Wikipedia site Genial Host linked to, is near enough the photo we would have taken had we had a camera, or been able to see the screen on the mobile to point at.  Grin
