That looks as thought it might be easier to get in and out of - the doors are bigger and come further forward so you can sit down then swing your feet in rather than having to post yourself like a letter

what is wrong with the one you have now , I thought, when I looked at a new car recently that the yeti had more room than a meriva I looked at both and have ended up going for a Fiat qubo, which suits my needs far better and is cheaper to run ( diesel auto and approx 70 mpg)

I wasnt on crutches when I got roomster and not enough room really for them in the front without smackign yaself and struggling plus the position I sit HAVE to sit in to drive is now causing pain as seat isn't height adjustable - plus the front on the Roomster is very low We with only Skoda dealer in our area too right now that does Motability and they are CRAPPY since they sold out so need to move to a better dealership Plus with having Tia we need more space and easier access Seeing Meriva Weds AM and will go from there - Zafira is a possibility too but Meriva looks better ACCESS wise

The kwikfit call out service is a right pain Last time I got a puncture ( split sidewall from a bad pothole, along with about 30 other drivers all fuming ) they said it would be about 6-8 hours before they get out. Ended up with RAC coming out, removing the wheel & driving me down to quickfit where they changed it & rac driving me back & refitting the wheel and that all took less than 1 hour Many cars now don't give you a spare wheel , only a tyre inflator kit with gunge to repair a standard puncture, to enable you to drive to a repair centre or home. That is useless with a split side wall

that was one the options but given getting to nearest kwikfit can take 60 mins one way and RAC taking a while to get here actually arseing around and cancelling hossie stuff worked out quicker If had been tomorrow Motability woulda given me hire car Problem is now on 5th different time slot in ONE day and 2 or 3 phonecalls Already lodged complaint as it aint on especially with Motability so they looking into it

They will regret doing it if I EVER find out who it was If there's a clear line of sight to where you park your car maybe there's a case to be made for pointing a webcam at it, as Ray does his? Criminal damage is a charge that can have serious consequences for anybody who gets caught... especially if it turns out to be targeting a specific person rather than just random idiocy...

Thought about that BUT would need a wireless cctv not webcam (cops) have said as we park on street and webcam wouldnt pick it up We've had issues with this car before being keyed and dented from being kicked I'd bloody linch them and shuv their head up their arse if I catch them lol

As long as you keep your cool and be all sweetness and light with them, it should help things along.........even if they are fobbing you off or whatever. But if you shout and curse them then it will be a long sorry process...................save you displeasure for any numpties trying to sell you something and tell you they have noticed your computer is full of viruses and they will 'fix it'.

Spoke to garage and they have located where the new car is now and should be mine between Weds and Fri next wk Dealership have had a guaranteed date of Weds 18th and they have allocated it a number plate and are getting the paperwork through from Motability so that when the car FINALLY comes I can go pick it up

D-day has arrived (dare I say again) Only difference with today is paperwork is done, cars registered and I have my numberplate details Car is due to arrive at garage around 11-11.30am and I can call to check between 11.30-12pm After a few weeks from HELL this needs to go to plan today or I may end up in a heap in a corner having a breakdown - cant take much more bad luck

For a moment I thought you meant she'd sneeze & strangle herself, until I read earlier post to see that's what she'd named it

Motability cars on some models charge alot for alarms so nope not on this one The new one has better security but not sure about an alarm I don't think you really want to have a car alarm. How about 3am someone knocks the car or whatever and sets it off. Your neighbours won't be too happy about all the racket whilst you struggle to put something on and go and silence the car. Better off without methinks.

Well full tank of petrol in "Pepper" (from just on red) is £63.88 But she is definitely LUSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH to drive Took mum for run in country and I managed fines without getting any pain or problems with my legs DEFO think the Meriva SE was right car to go for

Well full tank of petrol in "Pepper" (from just on red) is £63.88 Are you going to log your mileage and work out your MPG, or does it have a computer in there that does that for you? Kid brother's car has MPG on a gauge beside the rev counter and speedo so you can see how economically you're driving at any given moment, but I have no idea how common that is these days - I'm completely out-of-touch with cars.

You can look it up in the trip computer of swt it to show ya how many you are doing Have zero'd trip mileage and won't zero it again till have used the petrol up to work out how long can go on a tank But really do find her better to drive and mor comfortable but I cant hear the engine in her where as I could in the old car (quiet loudly) - "Pepper" really is quiet so I am having to feel for changes rather than listening for them lol

Do you have a rev-counter? That'll give you a useful visual cue... that's why many 'performance' cars give it greater prominence than the speedo...

Got Rev counter but it also lets ya know when it "thinks" it needs a gear change by a small symbol lighting up Its just weird though as didn't realise how much was listening to the Roomsters engine till now - now I got a quite car I got feel with my feet again

My 2002 (51 plate) VW Passat 1.9TDI, has a computer, and with the touch of a button and scrolling it can tell me......on my last journey, the miles covered, how long it took, average speed, average mpg, diesel mileage left before 'Oh pooh, I've run out of diesel'. On the permanent display, apart from showing the outside temperature, I can also display various options, and I have the actual mpg showing whilst driving. This tends to help me to try and drive without wasting too much fuel, and is quite fun when on a good road with the accelerator set just right it shows 112mpg or something similar.............but doesn't last long because I usually come up to some holiday makers all pointing and shouting "Oooooh look Cyril, trees, sheeps, cows etc." whilst dawdling along at 20mph on a good road..... So, in other words, this sort of thing has been included in a lot of cars since at least 2002.

I'd prefer a smaller car like Susan's Micra to our big Commodore that's manual with no power steering which is very hard to manouvre now with my bad arm Tony tried to back it out this week & caught the bumper, he spent hours out in the cold trying to take it off to repair & has ended up back in hospital as the strain on his heart caused a fluid build up in the lungs & he could hardly breathe, he is much better & coming home tomorrow. Maybe he will realise it is too big for us now,

He has to realise he needs to slow down more Kick his butt for me! I only had one trip to the hospital with those symptoms and it really scared me. A smaller car sounds like a very good idea. Hopefully it would also cost less to run.

One thing I never realised before swapping cars was how flippin heavy the steering was on the Skoda but the Meriva is brill - perhaps smaller card with a few the added extra would help Tony take it easy while driving too x

Yes I kept telling him to let it be & come in out of the cold & rest up, he is stubborn & also wanted to get it fixed for me I guess, Yes Susan's Micra does twice the distance on the same amount of petrol as ours. One thing I never realised before swapping cars was how flippin heavy the steering was on the Skoda but the Meriva is brill - perhaps smaller card with a few the added extra would help Tony take it easy while driving too x
Yes I find it so much lighter to manouvre & park, hopefully he'll see the light soon,
