Our Bank now sends a code by sms when we use our Credit Card online - a good thing!

When I try to pay our Satellite TV sub I get an 'unusable' window and Dstv says it's an 'overlay' from Bank and it's their problem? Are they correct or are they passing the buck?

It looks as though the bank is sending the 'verified by visa' bit at a fixed size, but the window it appears within is allowed to float, so if you're viewing on an unsuitable device resolution (you are) then it doesn't fit.

Neither bank or DST are really to blame at all... you've done it yourself by having the screen magnified a lot.

You can probably fix it yourself too, by reducing the magnification so your screen has more pixels width available.

In which case blame the bank - if they can't design a website that degrades gracefully on what is still quite a common size then somebody needs to be dragged out and shot.

That may not be so simple for PCK as most... if I remember right she's using Firefox with lots of disability adaptions added that may not be available otherwise?

latest versions of FF don't display things properly
She might well find that the bank website or cable company website  is set up to work properly only in IE and she might have to try IE just for that 1 site

They do if it's correctly coded... problem is, some people can't be bothered to do that.

A new pair of hands might come in useful to make that possible - IE is the least disability-friendly browser of all because it doesn't support stickykeys etc even when that's enabled for the rest of Windows.

No, I don't know why either.  thinking

What happens if you zoom out, so the text appears smaller?

Right, that's progress. the 'important bit' isn't connected to the main page, it's a separate item rather than just an embed.

Click anywhere in the 'important bit' before you zoom and the zoom might well just shrink that rather than the rest.
