A couple of times recently my laptop boot sequence has hung on a dos screen saying 6461/6461 Registry/Machine/Components, or summat similar. After about 10 seconds it has moved on and booted correctly.  Huh

Have started to Google it, and just wondered if anyone else has had similar.

This is on my HP Pavillion D9020 or summat, running Vista Home Premium 32bit.

I used to use clichés all the time, now I avoid them like the plague, these days a cliché to me, is like a red rag to a bull.
"I'm an idiot, I've just realised"..."I don't think"....outrageously quoted out of context.

it is installing updates & updating the registry

leave it alone & don't do anything when that mesage appearsa & it will all sort itself out
if you bugger around wiv it, then it is very likely to end up pear-shaped

Make sure you have updates set to always notify me about updates & let me decide when to download etc
that way you can manually install them & make sure you will be expecting it
silent updates do that a lot of the time in vista
