I am used to reading about wrong type of snow, too much rain, wrong sort of leaves on the line, but now it is too much sun so the trains can't run properly

How on earth do countries like India manage to run trains roughly on time & what about Germany where trains do run on time in sun or snow or rain

If India had overhead electrification there would be an ever present smell of grilled pork .....

They simply allow more time!

Because the tracks warp so badly there, it's a rare thing to see a train exceeding 30mph... and derailments are frequent because safety certificates can be bought and sold.

Plus they take the numbers of seated and standing passengers allowed in carriages rather liberally, and many times the carriages and locomotive can hardly be seen for the blighters... Grin

We certainly don't want to swap issues - the last thing we need is a return to the days this used to happen here...
