mothering Sunday in UK isn't teh same as Mothers day in US
http://www.dayformothers.com/when-is-mothers-day.html

in  In UK, Mother's Day is celebrated on the fourth Sunday in the month of Lent. Since the days of Lent are not fixed, the date for Mother's Day keeps on changing as well.

IN US it is always the second Sunday in May & has no relation to the religious calendar

Or Canada - an annual source of befuddlement in this household as we've got both to contend with, and the Canadian one doesn't appear on UK calendars...

In NZ it's also second sunday in May. i wasn't popular with my sister when I 'forgot' the UK date, but tried to make up for it by sending an extra big card to mum in the rest home :(
