Title: Global warming.climate change...

Interesting view, but a bit long:

Ian Rutherford Plimer is an Australian geologist, professor emeritus of earth sciences at the University of Melbourne, professor of mining geology at the University of Adelaide, and the director of multiple mineral exploration and mining companies.

He has published 130 scientific papers, six books and edited the Encyclopedia of Geology.  Sounds pretty learned/credible, don't you think?

These are his extensive credentials:

Where Does the Carbon Dioxide Really Come From?

Professor Ian Plimer's book in a brief summary:

PLIMER: "Okay, here's the bombshell. The volcanic eruption in Iceland.  Since its first spewing of volcanic ash, it has, in just FOUR DAYS, NEGATED EVERY SINGLE EFFORT you have made in the past five years to control CO2 emissions on our planet - all of you.

Of course, you know about this evil carbon dioxide that we are trying to suppress - it's that vital chemical compound that every plant requires to live and grow and to synthesize into oxygen for us humans and all animal life.

I know....it's very disheartening to realize that all of the carbon emission savings you have accomplished while suffering the inconvenience and expense of driving Prius hybrids, buying fabric grocery bags, sitting up till midnight to finish your kids "The Green Revolution" science project, throwing out all of your non-green cleaning supplies, using only two squares of toilet paper, putting a brick in your toilet tank reservoir, selling your SUV and speedboat, vacationing at home instead of abroad, nearly getting hit every day on your bicycle, replacing all of your 50 cent light bulbs with $10.00 light bulbs.....well, all of those things you have done have all gone down the tubes in just four days!

The volcanic ash emitted into the Earth's atmosphere in just four days - yes, FOUR DAYS - by that volcano in Iceland has totally erased every single effort you have made to reduce the evil beast, carbon. And there are around 200 active volcanoes on the planet spewing out this crud at any one time - EVERY DAY.

I don't really want to rain on your parade too much,

but I should mention that when the volcano Mt Pinatubo erupted in the Philippines in 1991, it spewed out more greenhouse gases into the atmosphere than the entire human race had emitted in all its years on earth.

Yes, folks, Mt Pinatubo was active for over One year - think about it.

Of course, I shouldn't spoil this 'touchy-feely tree-hugging' moment and mention the effect of natural solar and cosmic activity, and the well-recognized 800-year global heating and cooling cycle, which keeps happening despite our completely insignificant efforts to affect climate change.

And I do wish I had a silver lining to this volcanic ash cloud, but the fact of the matter is that the wildfire season across the western USA and Australia this year alone will negate your efforts to reduce carbon in our world for the next two to three years. And it happens every year.

Just remember that your government just tried to impose a whopping carbon tax on you, on the basis of the BOGUS 'human-caused' climate-change scenario.

Hey, isn't it interesting how they don't mention 'Global Warming' anymore, but just 'Climate Change.

It's because the planet has COOLED by 0.7 degrees in the past century and these global warming advocates got caught with their pants down.

And, just keep in mind that you might yet have an Emissions Trading Scheme - that whopping new tax - imposed on you by your government, that will achieve absolutely nothing except make you poorer.

It won't stop any volcanoes from erupting, that's for sure.

But, hey, .....go give the world a hug and have a nice day

The planet's going to clean itself, soon-ish. Bye, us! Yay!

Well, the Earth is supposed to be about 4.5 billion years old, and suffered all sorts of changes, with the Earth plates moving about making countries, volcanic eruptions, earth quakes even today.
Us hoomans have only been here for about 200,000 years, and also survived these things.
If and when the doom and gloom arrives, I won't be here, so I am not too worried about it...:)

I guess the argument is that all this is going on and our interventions are only speeding things up. But, we're speeding, faster and faster, to the point where the things we currently need are going to be exhausted. Then, we're farked.

Well tis Monday tomorrer, so I am hoping my favourite bread, tin of baked beans, some sausages, bacon, tub of single cream for my coffee, and some other stuff are still on the shelves.........but next week......who knows!  ;D
I hardly every take things seriously though, as I am too lazy to worry about it.... :gig:

Oh, I can't get too worried about it, coz there's diddly fuck I can do and I'll be gone, before the shit hits the fan, anyway.

Me, to and my kids, grandkids, great grandkids, and so on, will be be able to bleat and say 'We all told you so'....or, 'You were right!'.............. ;D
I suppose I could join the climate change/whatever mob, and make Johnny Polar Bear a bit happier, but I doubt he/she/they will care.... >:D  ;D

;D, and like a good kitty and read the message, then I went outside, chewed and ate some grass, and then puked up the lot in the wifes slippers.....boy did she laugh.... :o ;D

The thing is, the planet's still warming, believe it or not, from the last ice age. We're sure fucking things up, though, as we rely 100% on our tech and, apart from running out of the stuff we need to make it, tech always fails, in the end.

Yep, the planet has been warming up a bit, and I don't know if the Earth has altered its orbit a bit to maybe a bit nearer to the sun?
But if it weren't for the melting ice from the remnants of previous ones to the 'latest' one, most of the north of the world would still be covered in ice, like northern America (as we know it now), so I imagine those norther countries are rather happy to get some land back..... :)
Wasn't Greenland once green and habitable, and Vikings lived there, until the ice made it uninhabitable?
There has been a lot of pollution in recent years like WWI and WWII, with all the burning oil, vehicles, buildings, and the 'atom bombs' on Japan, and as far as I am concerned it was the only way to end the war with Japan to save lives.
Some say it was a shame about the Japanese civilians who got burnt and died, but then the Japs did pretty well with bombing China, Singapore etc., in their conquest to rule these places/
Then there is the old favourite of natural causes, like active volcanoes, which put out many more tons of smoke, ash, and gasses.

Then we recently had the school kids here and in Europe all writing their placards with their paint boxes and coloured crayons making a bit fuss to be important, and according to looking out of my window, sod all has changed, as it is still wet, windy cold and miserable outside, which is normal during winter time.

But I bet when our summer comes (hopefully like last year) they will all be down at beaches back gardens, sun bathing, enjoying the hot weather, with the girls showing off their new bikinis, and walking about with mini skirts and little tops, and all enjoying the weather, and the boys in their vests and shorts, and as for the climate change protest................wot protest?......oh yeah, we forgot about that....... ::)

The magnetic field's shifting. Again. North on your compass is further away from true north than ever.

Problem is, we know the world's warming up and that that's gonna be pants, for a lot of us. But, we ARE adding to the problem, big time. But, people with the intellect of Trump just don't understand it, so choose to ignore or even deny it.

Seems silly, to me, this campaign against Walker's and their crisp packets. What about the bin sacks that we ALL use? What about the fucking cellophane in most packaging?

Face it, humanity. We're fucked. We're 100% reliant on our tech to the extent that the "Terminator" scenario is already here, in many ways.

So, best thing to do, is hassle RessMoggy and those other twats, on Twitter, have a nice, hot cup of tea, and say "Bollox to Brexit"!
