Title: Pub quiz question.
Post by: Kat on May 12, 19, 09:25 PM
Until 1969, there was a railway station, in the east of England, where you could look at the sea, which was in the west!

How could that be?

OK, I can't find the answer to this question.
I thought it might be somewhere on my Island, and thought it might be Freshwater station (now the Coop), but that would be a North/South orientation.
I surrender...... :s:

Hunstanton Station, in Norfolk, was right on the coast of The Wash, looking west.

Thank goodness for that, now I will be able to sleep tonight..... :hat3:
Another thought I had would be some where small in Scotland, but that didn't work out either.
Good question though.... ;D

I found the site of the station and had a look around, with Google Earth. There're still a few railway buildings there.

It made me think "I wonder...", like things do.

 ;D Too clever for me.
I did look at many maps of railway stations on goowgul, but couldn't find any suitable matches, so being me, I gave up....
