I have a horrid feeling I didnt send a post when I put mine on.Perhaps I just clicked send.

If you added your details to your profile, I believe the software automatically adds your birthday to the calender.

Can you or can you not just stick a date on the calendar and not make a post ?

I haven't found a way, neither has Norman... :)

When you post something to the calender, it stashes it, then it's the calender that posts it to the board at the appropriate time, so although the tool 'looks' similar, it behaves differently.

I have posted "Wishing you luck" on the calendar to be displayed on 27th October, On Casper's topic.

Watching to see if it is stashed somwhere and will re-appear that day.

If you go to that date on the calendar you will see a red * I think that is my message.

I want some Brownie points hehehehehe

For a split second, I read that as: Are you getting intimate with Fred?

If you go to that date on the calendar you will see a red * I think that is my message.

The red * could also be my original event - the only way to find out is for somone to post another event and see what happens (on a different day obviously).

OK  - I have put me testpilot hat on again and worked out how to use this calender thingy. Look at 23rd September and I have put a new event on the calender.

RTFM is a waste of time so jus follow ole Casp's advice and all will be clear.

Go to where you want your event on the calender and actually click on the date itself in the top left of the square. That opens a calender event posting window thingy. Enter what you want the event called and untick the "link to a thread" option (or whatever it was called). Submit the post and it then appears on the calender - complete with little red * too.

So you can put an event on the calender without linking to a thread. :)

But it is very nice to see that nearly 200 visits to this thread have been made already and I have 5 weeks or so left before the day.

Wonder if I should film the op and post the video on here? :)

If you're allowed to film it, that would be a great idea.

Hop on over to the calender to see an entry for today's date - that will also show that it is possible to post an event without posting to a thread. :)
