I quite like that idea   :hat3:... its sometimes good to have others point of view of products, also of companies that trade on the net.

I see no reason why such reviews can't go in Chat.

I see no reason why such reviews can't go in Chat.

I don't think we'd have enough traffic in a review area to merit a dedicated board for it... however if somebody makes a 'reviews' thread in Chat I'll make it sticky so it doesn't get pruned or buried... would that do the trick?

That always leaves the possibility of a dedicated board at a later date if it takes off in a bigger way than expected... all the content would be already gathered together and easy to move.

I am happy enough with Richard's suggestion, with 1 proviso
We will need to make sure we don't get attacked by the spammers who will sign up in their masses & post "fake" reviews to get SEO ratings

Too many boards with reviews sections do get an unhealthy amount of 1 hit posters who post what is in effect spam

there are technical ways around it and the admins will need to keep a careful eye open

What made me think about it was we all have good and bad experiences with shops, products etc and it would be good to get personal recommendations or warnings on various things  :yup:
A thread would do just as well if you think it would be practical :)

Seems like a good scheme to me.

I am poised to contribute. ::)

I used to use clichs all the time, now I avoid them like the plague, these days a clich to me, is like a red rag to a bull.
"I'm an idiot, I've just realised"..."I don't think"....outrageously quoted out of context.

Then start a thread, and as soon as I see it I'll sticky it.

Just be a little bit aware of the legalities of beating companies up... strictly the facts, and evidence-based so when their lawyers start with the nastygrams there's something to shut them up with.
