Weird computer glitch
« on: Mar 12, 17, 10:37 PM »
Last night the computer was left on standby for a few hours & when I tried to use it again all the icons on the left of desktop & bottom right toolbar weren't showing & bottom left ones wouldn't enlarge, only the applications would show up but not open.

I tried restarting several times, also right clicking to change some settings but no results. :stressed:

Then when I started up this morning everything was back to normal !!  thank goodness  ???

W10? Any updates sneaked their way in?

I never bother with standby, myself. If it's on, it's on. If it's off, it's off.

As you're OK, now, it's gonna be difficult o figure out.

Standby = Sleep mode ?

Never use it myself, tried it once and it took the PC too long to wake up and behave.
So it's either 'restart' or 'shut down' for me.

Yep, not helpful I know.... :flowers:

Well I didn't actually put it standby, I was trying to describe what it does on it's own.  ???

I had to press 'tab' to get the screen back.

I've googled the problem & it seems like a glitch with Win10 update, quite a few experiencing similar problems.  ::)

I'm so glad I stuck with W7... :)

A lot of the W10 updates seem to screw something. It makes you wonder what all those insider testers actually test.

You have this to look forward to, too...

I'd assume you want to disable this "feature".  ;D

Looks like I might want to get rid of Driver Update feature also, ?

I'm not sure about how to get rid of WPD, I'm not very technical these days & brain is getting slower.  ::)

Thanks for your suggestions, I may be bald by the time I work things out.  ;)
