Do you have days that just don't work?
« on: Jul 14, 17, 06:22 PM »
Today is Julie and my 'Rooster Day', that is the anniversary of us getting engaged. I proposed on a day narrow boat called Rooster and has nothing whatsoever to do with cocks. However I digress, today we have been looking for something really special to eat tonight to celebrate, could we find something that inspired us NO, if we had an idea to pursue it was thwarted by an empty shelf, either ours or Tesco's or both.

Have thought about why

Best guess is working in the garden yesterday for 7 hours, mixing concrete, cutting and laying paving blocks etc. I think that we were still mentally tired.

Thanks Yvonne, we thought about going out to eat but there is nowhere special within walking distance from our house. We don't eat Chinese or Indian food and the local pizza's are not so good since they change owners so we were left with fish and chips. Decided to cook them ourselves and wash it down with copious quantities of wine  :hic:

Sometimes the simple meal is somehow the best, and you probably appreciated it more that evening, than planning to go somewhere to eat, or plan a posh meal where something could go wrong and spoil it.
Of course, a healthy dose of wine helps too.... :juice: ;D
