I believe NoScript does, now, too.

God, it's difficult to know who you can trust, online, now, innit?

Ghostery and AdBlock harvest some data, you know.

This doesn't.

It speeds up your browser, too. :)

Thought I would try it, but a message pops up to say 'it can read and change all your data on web sites you visit'.....is that good or bad ?
So not so far added it as an extension to Chrome.

Of course it will. If it removes, say, an ad, does it not have to read it, to see that it's an ad? If it removes said ad, is it not changing that page? Ghostery and AdBlock do the same. They just don't tell you that they harvest all that data for a big German media company.
Namely...

The company's owner Franz Burda was a member of the Nazi Party and an avid Antisemite.

Well, whatever I use, as long as they remove bloody adverts from videos on YT.
I know some make a living out of YT channels by using ads, but I have to decided if I want to fund their life style, or not have to suffer bloody adverts that I have absolutely no interest in, then the latter decision wins.
It's a tough world.... ;D

I never get targeted ads, so I must be doing something well. :)

I have cookies for Google refused, which might help. I use DuckDuckGo, for searches, since Metacrawler died out, then became part of the loopily named Bing.

I also have ad blocking extensions specifically aimed at YT. Mind you, I use that so rarely that I doubt I'd notice. Although, when I do visit there, I notice that the actual vids load much quicker.

Last one I saw had a bloody video ad, before the one I wanted to see came on. So, I just quit the page. If everyone else did the same, Google might have to rethink things. But, of course, nobody else will bother.

My mind boggles that Google made the gazillions that they have, purely by selling ads. The world's gone mental.

Too true.
I watch a lot of YT videos, like WILTY, HIGNFY (although that just seems to be very lefty these days, and not that funny any more), funny cats and dogs (yep I lead a sad life), plus since I play World of Tanks, I like to watch replays, and reviews, and a few of the 'Tubers' who do this.
That's where AdBlock comes in handy, but I feel a slight guilt that I don't provide them with revenue by blocking ads, but hey ho, that's life.

I think it is mainly Amazon that is guilty of chucking up ads, after I have just looked at a PC part or something, but not bought it.........mind you, I have a tough job trying to remember what I had for dinner last night.... ::)

But you know far more stuff about shutting down stuff you don't want than me, as I just bumble about turning off, that I think I don't need or want..and hope for the best..

With Trump ditching the internet freedom thing, vids might be difficult to watch, in the future...

I'm a bit of a lefty, coz I believe in all for the common good, rather than have the few making all the money and screwing the rest of us...

As for the tracking, I s'pose if it doesn't piss you off, why worry about it? (That's their plan, I guess).

Yeah, I am a bit of a noob in that department, and apart from sites tracking me, to me it is just an irritation that I can just about live with.... :)
