Railway Companies

There is a lot of shit flying in the direction of Northern Rail, is this justified?

Northern Rail is run by Arriva, as is the Wales franchise.

Do I detect a connection between Arriva and services not fit for purpose? Maybe.

Me, I can’t wait for the new Welsh franchise to start in October, at least the Welsh franchise (allegedly) unites the responsibility for track and services.

Do I miss British Rail? Yes, apart from the curly sandwiches that is.

As soon as the government put ours into private hands the maintenance has been very slack.  ::)

Northern deserve to lose the franchise. Aren't they owned by the German government, at the end of the (no pun intended) line.

Our line currently gets a train per hour, if we're lucky. Considering our line is the main Manchester/Chester line, you can imagine how crowded the things are. What is it with introducing a new timetable, when they knew they didn't have enough drivers to run it? That's just plain stoopid.

If you want a timetable that works, get a driver to sort it.
